wildthing Thank you for the explanation, the more I know! I kinda get it that Japanese artists are more secluded. I remember some young stage actors aren't even allowed to take pictures with the fans they meet on the street, when funnily enough, they travel using public trains/buses. They aren't that popular (they only have several thousands followers on twitter and are only known in the fandom they're presenting), but I guess they know that Japanese fans can be a bit crazy sometimes...

Usually its contractual commitments that they are not allowed etc. usually not because the artist do not wish to, its just how the Japan artists are usually managed, especially the Idol types. Unfair to other fans etc... and then so many other issues. The Asian entertainment industry are highly controlled.

You know, I probably should actually watch this live at some point, since I bought it when I was over in Japan. Must say I'm pretty excited . I've heard the bonus CD at least and it's fantastic.

Seasonreaper Wow, you bought the DVD! Check out the live as soon as you can. It's a completely different experience to just listen to the recordings, haha. Let us know what you think later! :3

I may be a bit late to the party, but today I watched the blanc et noir BD!! I was really impressed, Aimer sounded really good throughout! I especially liked Spica, us, Hana no Uta, Stars in the Rain, and Rokutousei no Yoru!! And speaking of Rokutousei, is it just me or does it sound like Aimer teared up in the second verse ;-;. I'm really confused as for what the floating light thingys are- I could tell they were hanging from the ceiling, but it seemed like multiple times they would be on top of each other (vertically) but then split away. Either way they were really cool XD

Westkana Better late than never! Now you can join us all in gushing over the beautiful performance. <3 I agree with the songs you mentioned! Spica and us both made great openings for their respective sessions. My memories of those two live performances are really strong; that's how much I repeated those parts and how much I loved them, haha. I went back to listen to Rokutosei when you said that, haha. I thought she got a bit emotional in the second verse, but not as much as crying. I'd say she teared up more during the MC parts in Noir session. She thanked the audience multiple times and talked about how she enjoyed singing. Her voice got notably smaller and harder to understand, a bit shaky too. xD I felt like crying as well, honestly. LOL yeah the lights really made me go "WOOOW". I think they were playing with the hanging rope to create that illusion together with the camera angle. We all know that magic is actually a well-performed trick, but those lights were really magical. They brought magic to Aimer's performances, haha.

Finally sat down after over two months and watched the ClariS and Aimer Blu-Rays I bought in Japan. It was alright I guess.
Pfft no it wasn't, it was amazing. I like the whole idea of splitting the blanc and noir parts across the live, and interesting to see the central stage of Budokan being used, it doesn't seem to be that common from the lives I've seen there. Aimer's voice still sounds absolutely incredible even in these live performances and it further shows I really goddamn need to see her perform live someday, I won't fail a third time.
Also I gotta say, the camerawork, editing and stage decorations here were all fantastic as well, especially the hanging lights and the cutting during 'us' which was naturally a standout performance to me because, well, it's 'us'. The instrumental transition between the two parts of the concert going right into that song, Aimer coming into view in her new outfit and those lights coming down was impressive. Talking of those lights, their use in Rokutousei no Yoru really helped add to the atmosphere and I think that might well have been the most impressive vocal performance from Aimer in the whole concert as well, she sounded phenomenal there.
Interesting to hear that Hana no Uta was first revealed here and in a stripped down form, I believe. There are parts of that song that I don't care for too much in the studio release (Aimer's voice sounds like it goes too high for her to comfortably hit in a few places, albeit not drastically) but here it sounded so much nicer. Kinda wish it was the definitive version of the song. I wasn't wholly sold on ONE when I heard the studio version of that either, but it really comes into itself in a live show if this performance is anything to go by.
Also the bonus short movie Solin, the music in that gives me huge world's end girlfriend vibes in places and it's bugging me as to whether he was involved at all.
Overall, I paid full price for the Blu-Ray and I still think I should've paid more. Wish it had a couple more of my favourite tracks *cough* AM03:00, Hakuchuumu *cough* but the setlist is solid, the performance was on point and I'm still really impressed with the actual footage, probably the best I've seen in a live release. Maybe now I'll go back and watch the bonus BDs that come with her albums, something else I'm notoriously bad at forgetting...

Seasonreaper Yay finally! Took you long enough. I was surprised reading the first paragraph, haha! Nice to know that you enjoyed it as much as we all did. For me, it was magical and I was watching through the screen. I would probably freak out and cry if I had attended the concert for real. I thought everyone who performed at Budokan would automatically use the rotating stage. I don't think I ever watched anybody's concert at Budokan except Aimer, though. I completely agree that the stage items were beautifully done. Her songs had always been magical and they served to boost the magic. There's no disputing that 'us' was phenomenal. <3 Interesting to hear that Hana no Uta was first revealed here and in a stripped down form, I believe. There are parts of that song that I don't care for too much in the studio release (Aimer's voice sounds like it goes too high for her to comfortably hit in a few places, albeit not drastically) but here it sounded so much nicer. Also the bonus short movie Solin, the music in that gives me huge world's end girlfriend vibes in places and it's bugging me as to whether he was involved at all. Oh, I seem to miss this point. I had heard of Hana no Uta's studio version before I watched the live concert, but it was my first time listening to the song in acoustic arrangement. I wonder if it was the first impression, but the acoustic didn't hit me with the feels as the studio version did. She performed well, but I didn't think she was as desperate as the official one. Was it the strings...? I don't know. I think the song would be added to her acoustic song list for whenever she did another short session in the future. As for ONE, this was the first time I saw it live and being performed with so much energy. I kind of saw the song in a new light now thanks to this performance. I will always remember her smile and cheerful persona on stage, the lights, and the energy of the audience. Who is this "huge world's end girlfriend" btw?

world's end girlfriend is a music artist, of whom I am a fan. Solin reminds me of some of his work, although most of it is instrumental. This is probably the best example of what Solin makes me think of: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7y3o_kcPYg&t=2s
