Angel Oo thanks for sharing that comment! Controversial, unusual love; that part I agree with. These two girls are most likely in love with each other. I just don't see what the dance is about. They move according to the lyrics (like actually waving when Aimer sings 'goodbye' or something like that) and it gets even weirder. The sudden zoom-in also bugs me. Anyway, it shows that I have a lot to complain about the MV, so I'll just listen to the song blindly. XD Of all songs in this single, I listen to Ref:rain the most, but I still find myself reaching out to the other songs more (those like ONE, Ito, hollow world, zero, Kataomoi, etc.) I also don't see people raving about the songs here a lot, so I wonder if listeners don't really like this single much. But the sales were good, I heard!

Migi The dance is merely for the sake of "art" I assume? I agree when my friend said that it's "so Sia" because of all the random dancing. And this isn't Aimer's first MV using HS girls in love, there's Anata wa Deawanakereba. Uh, if I have to describe it... I like slow ballads that when I close my eyes, I can imagine myself walking around a beautiful fantasy-ish town and creating stories out of them. Raining, Polaris, Kachoufugetsu, and Choucho Musubi fit in this category. There's also this one song that I found by accident and can't stop listening: Ref:rain is very catchy as usual, but it's more generic like ONE and Kataomoi. My ears want to like what they want to like.

Angel Yes, the girls love is certainly not a strange idea to Aimer. Two MVs already so far. Look at the girls here too > brave-shine.boards.net/thread/82/bitter-sweet > It's quite often indeed. xD That's an interesting description! I'd argue that mabayui bakari is the one that gives that kind of feeling for me. Especially with the 'kira kira' part in the lyrics, I can imagine the light coming through the leaves by the street and I feel energized, haha. Weird me. After Rain -Scarlet ver.- comes after mabayui bakari in terms of building my energy. I guess I just don't like Raining that much. Ooh, KOKIA! I admit I didn't listen to her much beyond her Ar tonelico works. I'll give it a try soon! :3

Migi There's a part of me that thinks that that Aimer might be gay herself. Isually singers tell a story about themselves through their music, but it might be because she wants to bring awareness to this taboo matter (according to Japan's society). Oh you were talking about mayubai bakari, I thought Ref:rain! I agree that mayubai bakari is really good. I like it after Raining, BUT COME ON IT'S HARD TO CHOOSE A FAVORITE BECAUSE SHE'S SO TALENTED. It's going to be like this... Angie: My favorite is A. I like it more than B. Migi: So B is not good? Angie: B is also good! Migi: What about C? Angie: C is good! Migi: Which one is better between C and D? And A and B? Angie: I like D more than A. Migi: But you said A is your favorite. Angie: YEAH I THINK D IS ALSO GOOD! Migi: How about A and C? Angie: I like C. Migi: So A isn't your favorite after all, then what about B? Angie: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Sorry I'm a bit drunk.

Angel LOL it's funny that you'd think like that, but maybe that's just how it is. For fans like us, at least. xD That's really an interesting claim, hahaha! I never thought about the sexual preferences of my idols/artists I follow because I want to appreciate their works objectively. I'm liking mabayui bakari more and more. The beats are fun!

I ended up having a night where I couldn't sleep for a good 6hrs or so a while ago where I wasn't at home, and my phone somehow screwed itself up and I was left with only 14 songs on there. That happened to include this single, minus the After Rain rearrange, so I listened to these songs a whole ton during that one night. I actually had just put them on my phone the night before so I hadn't even heard them beforehand, either. Now, I'm fine listening to songs over and over again, but there's still limits to that during such as short period of time.
I can't say I ever got bored of listening to Ref:rain. It's really, REALLY good. Mabayui and Raining are decent too, but Ref:rain itself is absolutely fantastic. For some reason Mabayui sounds really nostalgic to me, also. Overall Aimer's singles have always been decent quality but this one in particular is particularly strong.

Seasonreaper You should try listening to the new version of After Dark. It's hard to compare it to the old one, but it's a nice song on its own. I seem to get drawn to the B-side titles more, not only with Aimer. I came for ref:rain, but as I listen more and get bored, I find a different kind of love in mabayui bakari. I like how the song is arranged with the beats and the guitar notes. It's a tough competition against ref:rain heavy beats. They give a nice contrast to the single. I guess that's why it feels like a strong release.

I'm pretty late to this discussion, but I wanna leave my thoughts because I have no one else to talk to about this XD Overall, I think all of the songs included are nice. Like others have said I think Ref:rain is pretty darn good, it earned an instant spot on my phone when it came out. I hyped myself up listening to Ref:rain during the Koi wa ame endings, and I still enjoy listening to it.

i'm really curious if her next album is coming out this year, but seeing that she's is very busy i think it's not coming sooner than 2019, but Ref:rain will surely be part of the album
