Roz I see. When I was in high school, I dreamt of having a college/uni life that flexible. I mean, that's what I used to see in movies or dramas and it looked so cool, lol. Too bad I got into a med school with a fixed schedule. xD Btw, do you do covers?

Migi awww hahah nah,my schedule is fixed as well and not really flexible too. It's one of the really rough courses in the school. As for covers I'm not really that confident yet, but I was taken in by the "Vocal Club" and also a male singer of my own band, so I'm still constantly trying to improve myself to a level good enough where I can be proud to sing. Many songs are also high in range so I'm still working on that hahah. But besides that,I guess I can say I DO have some recordings of me singing somewhere, but I'll reveal them another day hahah.

Roz Haha, I see. I guess it's not easy for our majors to be flexible like some others. Well, saves us the headache from choosing which classes to take every semester. Do you mean a vocal club in the college? I think that's really good. Nothing better than real practice when it comes to singing. What kind of voice do you have? Are you more a tenor or a bass? XD I'll look forward to hearing the recordings when you're ready.

Migi Ah yes, I'm actually more of the in-between, a Baritone XD and my voice is really "meh" depending on my comfort zone because I have a really uniquely "nice and unpleasant" voice (I haven't heard anyone with my voice yet) unpleasant because I think depending on the key I could sound really good or I could sing a part that doesn't fit my voice hahah. Don't really need to look forward to it, but you can look out for it I guess! 😆

Roz I see, I guess that's because your voice is in-between so it's hard to find the exact comfort range? On the other hand, we can say that you can expand your vocal range to reach the high and low which makes a good variation for the songs later. :3 Lol yes I'll look out for it.

Nice to know you Roz ! Welcome to this forum, I hope you enjoy your stay! I read the previous messages and let me say that I'm always thrilled whenever people tell me that they know what they wanna do with their life. You have no idea how many adults out there who are still clueless. You say that you want to become a "musician", but that's such a broad term. You could be a sound engineer, music producer, instrumentalist, an actual singer with so many different genres, and many more. Which path will you take?

Angel Hello and Thank you! I guess I am fortunate enough to find my passion before it was too late to choose my career paths. As for being a musician, I want to be an actual singer songwriter and composer. As for the genre, I am slightly lost on that. I could totally say that I want to do similar J-pop music just like Aimer's or J-rock music like ONE OK ROCK.. But then recently I realized that their music is unique to them only, it's their own kind of sound. I'm still in the stage of finding the genre that's suitable to my voice, because in the end what I have to achieve is my own kind of music, my own kind of sound. Music that people can remember me for. Just like musicians like Aimer, amazarashi, Kenshi Yonezu, OOR and so forth, they all have this unique sound that makes them who they are. As time goes own, I hope to be able to find this "sound" of mine that is unique for me because it's the music I want to created and share, from the musician himself.

Roz I see now! I honestly don't think that a school can actually teach you all the skills needed to become a musician, it's like teaching you how to be creative when it all comes within you (you NEED to learn outside the class by yourself). I'm just speaking from the POV of someone that's surrounded by talented artists, everyone says that most teachers in school will want you to make something that please them, instead of something that defines you. This is why many creative people leave school. I'm also against art school since they're very expensive and practically useless, since again, you don't need it to become artistic. I don't mind if they're 100% free and have a straight connection to the industry, like some schools in Canada or Sweden. BUT HEY, DO WHATEVER YOU THINK IS RIGHT! You're still 17 and growing, you're going to find that voice. It's alright if you copy your favorite artists atm since they'll guide you. Everyone has a role model that effects the way the live. Good luck!
