Ended up listening to the whole album when I was searching for the original version of After Rain to compare it with the new one. A slow-paced song emphasizes the low-key strength (like in the original), where an upbeat song emphasizes the optimistic spirit (like in the Scarlet version). Both represent Aimer, so I like them both.
Other than that, Polaris is a gem and it will always be, but words is also good. I didn't listen to it enough. Need to go and find the lyrics and listen to it more, seems like a potential gem too.

After Dark is the first album of Aimer's I got (although I think only Sleepless Nights and Bitter & Sweet were out at the time other than that anyway) and I still love it. The live performances here are all great and After Rain and words are two of my favourite Aimer songs. I didn't actually pick up a copy of it until my trip to Japan this year, but I'm happy to finally own it.

I can't wait for her new single or EP releases just so I can hear the recordings of live sessions included on the CD, just like this one. Seasonreaper It's been an amazing journey if we look at After Dark and ref:rain. The songs in ref:rain are arguably more modern, but the songs here still reflect her music style best. It's irreplaceable like that. |

Perhaps it's kind of crazy for anyone but I really like the prologue, it's building up the atmosphere very well. I hope she will create something like that again in the future album.
Also, Live at anywhere audio version is just magical in every way. Polaris is surely the best track on this album.

My favorite single/album. The prologue, After Dark really has a deep meaning, and emphasis on how she uses nature as her subjects in her music. In this single/album, she succeeded to symbolize the night, and the rhythm acts as a river for the poem to flow through. The flow of the poem smoothly connected to POLARIS. It's literally my lullaby every night.
