I really miss OOR's older songs. Zankyou Reference and Niche Syndrome are still my favorites. Change didn't appeal that much to me. It felt like a Taka solo song than a ONE OK ROCK song.
On a lighter note, someone mentioned on twitter that Change kind of sounds like Under the Sea from Little Mermaid lol

janerudesu LOL people and their associations. I didn't think of Under the Sea at all when I listened to Change a few times before this, but I totally see why they would say that. The beginning notes are kinda similar. xDD

janerudesu HAHA, I didn't even think of Under the Sea but it does sound like that. Anyway It did sound like more a Taka solo song than ONE OK ROCK. And about their albums, Niche Syndrome, Jinsei x Boku (I think that's the English name?), and Zankyou Reference are all equally as good!

Westkana I love Jinsei x Boku too. Those 3 albums are my top 3. I was hoping to hear their old sound again, but lost hope with the release of Change. During the creation of Ambitions, I heard Toru wants them to go back with their old sound but Taka prefers to go with the sound their producers want them to do (I assume he is talking about FBR)

janerudesu Nooo don't lose hope! The Honda CM one looks like an international project (given there are many Western staff members involved), so maybe that's why. I'm still holding on to their promise during the Ambitions tour that they are working on a new album and planning to bring back their old colors. I'll keep waiting! >.<

Migi I still love them, I will always. I just get sad sometimes I just hope that these differences in ideas won't create any huge conflict between the boys.

Yeah I hope they'll go back to their old sound too. I know this change with style is solely to appeal to an international audience, as I was thinking about going to their concert when they came where I live in July 2017 but decided against it because the tracklist was solely songs from 35xxxv and Ambitions (with a couple exceptions such as The Beginning and Clock Strikes). Meanwhile in Japan they performed songs from their entire career. Btw, how was their concert that you went to, janerudesu?

Westkana The concert was fun! Lost my voice the next day but it was worth it. Sadly there were some unoccupied seats (the concert was held on Monday) despite that OOR still gave their best. I liked the set list, lot of songs from their previous albums. The lighting, sound system was perfect, a very big improvement from their 2015 live here. It felt like I was transported to their Ambitions Japan tour. The camera work too was great. My seat was already near the stage but I would look at the screens from time to time since the shots were really good. Lots of good moments, The boys spoke in our language (Filipino), Tomoya and Ryota sounded natural. Taka and Toru had some difficulties (Toru has a cheat sheet with him haha.) Before exiting the stage Taka said "See you soon.", I hope he keeps his promise again. Here is an official photo taken from the concert.

janerudesu I'm happy to hear that! I think they know that fans love the songs prior to Ambitions more, haha. Too bad that some seats were unoccupied. I would've transported myself there and filled the empty space, lol! Which song was performed best in your opinion?

Migi Some We sure do! Can I pick all? HAHA Goodness I never thought I would like American Girls. But if I have to pick I'm going with Wherever you are and We are. There was a sea of yellow and red lights during these performances and everyone was singing their hearts out.
